Welcome to Imprint 2012. We have a fantastic week of literary events lined up this year. We kick off with the inspirational John McCarthy, journalist, writer and broadcaster. John was held captive in Lebanon for more than five years, making him Britain’s longest-held hostage. We are delighted to welcome John to Imprint to discuss his latest book You Can’t Hide The Sun.

We are also privileged to host award-winning writers throughout the week such as Alan Bissett, Janice
Galloway and Andrew O’Hagan. Author Gordon Ferris makes his Imprint debut this year, and he is delighted to be reading to a home-crowd. A Sense Of Belonging also brings another two Kilmarnock authors back to their roots; the critically acclaimed writers and poets Stewart Conn and William McIlvanney.

For our creative audiences we bring workshops in book artistry and writing. For children (and the young at heart) we present jungle parties, workshops with percussion instruments and a celebration of Roald Dahl’s BFG.

Author sessions will also be taking place across East Ayrshire specifically for our school children.
We are sure you will agree that Imprint showcases many unmissable events and we look forward to welcoming you throughout the week.
