Taste Ye Back - In association with The Jefferson Restaurant
In Taste Ye Back, leading food writer Sue Lawrence interviews over 60 prominent Scots and asks them to talk about their childhood food memories of growing up in Scotland. Sue then creates a recipe for each person, giving a unique glimpse, and taste, of the past.
Taste Ye Back is a fascinating insight into the eating habits of Scottish children (from the 1930s to the 1990s) and combines the recipes with social history, family memories and beautiful photography. The recipe list includes Alex Salmond’s Cullen Skink, Ewan McGregor’s Bread &
Butter Pudding, John Barrowman’s Honey & Banana Bread and Andrew
Marr’s Sticky Gingerbread.
We have teamed up with The Jefferson Restaurant in Kilmarnock to offer the audience a real indulgence – sample some of the sweet treats as well as hearing all about them!
