Isabelle Ting, professional bookbinder and co-founder of the Owl & Lion Gallery inEdinburgh, will lead this inspiring workshop.
The class covers the basic principles of bookbinding, and you will learn about bindings which are both unique and beautiful. You will be amazed at what you can do in a couple of hours!
Techniques include Pamphlet Stitch which is simple three and five hole stitch binding and very useful for binding all sorts of small booklets and leaflets. Decorative Single Section Sewing is a series of beautiful and intricate bindings which produces very pretty results.
All participants will go home with at least 5 books which they have made themselves. All materials and tools will be provided and you will be using good quality cartridge paper and Owl & Lion hand-printed papers for book covers.
Isabelle Ting is a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art and trained in Florence.
